The hike begins in Kamp Koren, where our accommodation are located. The marked path continues towards the famous Kozjak Waterfall. The path leads us first across the meadow, and then continues into the forest, where it continues alongside the Soča River. The path then turns right and leads us in a slight ascent to the bridge across the stream Kozjak from which we can see the Small Kozjak Waterfall. We continue right, the path is going through the woods along the stream. After a few minutes of walking along a well-secured path, we reach the sightseeing point at a 15-meter waterfall. Day 5: HIKE FROM DOM KLEMENTA JUGA IN LEPENA (700 m) – KRN LAKE (1391 m)

Easy marked trail, 5-6 hours.
From Kobarid we drive towards Bovec. From Bovec we follow the road towards Trenta. At the village Soča we turn to the road for Lepena. We follow this road, which is completely asphalted, until the end where there is parking lot at Dom Klementa Juga. From here, we continue along a wide marked path towards Krn Lake. A wide and not too steep path, after a few minutes of walking, splits into two parts.

Krnsko lake
Krnsko lake

The left, which is slightly steeper, is normal, the right is flatter but longer and it is suitable for small children and the elderly. Both paths are going through the forest to the upper station of the cable car. From the upper station of the cable car, we continue the same direction, along a wide transport road, which quickly leads us to the snow measuring station (every year in April). From there, the road begins to descend and take us past the branch for Velika Baba, quickly lead us to the next crossroads. Here we leave the road and continue the footpath left down, which in a few minutes leads us to Dom na Krnskih jezerih (1385 m). From the hut, we continue straight in the direction of Krn and Krn Lake. We continue past the shepherds’ hut and we come to the next crossroads, where we continue in the direction Krn (left Bogatin, Mali Šmohor and Komna). After a few minutes of walking, the path leads us to the pearl of the Krn mountain chain. In ,front of us, we see the Krn Lake surrounded by its attractive mountain meadows where we can rest.

Day 6: HIKE FROM THE VILLAGE SVINO TO MATAJUR (1642 m)

Easy marked trail, 4 hours.
Just a short distance from the center of Kobarid towards Tolmin, the road to the village Svino is on the right side. We follow this road until the slope begins. We park in the parking lot by the road. We continue to hike along the road. After about five minutes, we come to the village Svino, where we see the markings for Matajur to the left, and Sužid to the right. We continue to the left between the houses. The right way goes a bit more to the left and soon we pass the houses through the pastures. After the path goes into the forest the markings are more common, and orientation is easier. The path then becomes steep and after about 30 minutes, the walk leads us to the wider road that comes from the village Sužid. We follow that road for a while, it is well marked. Before the decaying old military house, the path to Matajur leads us left and up. Here, the road turns into a steep military path, which, after a steep slope, leads us to less steep one. The path then leads us to the newly built forest road that we only cross. On the other side of the road, we climb up a few steps and see pastoral huts on Svinska pasture. The path to Matajur can be found between the huts, and it runs along the smaller valley moderately upwards. Despite the fact that the trail is marked in some places, it is less visible and sometimes overgrown. After about 15 minutes of walking, we reach the water reservoir and in the vicinity, we can see the trail marker, red circles with white centers. Here, we are heading straight in the direction of Matajur, and the marked path is still poorly visible. The path then leads us over an overgrown meadow. We continue on the right and the path, which is slightly steep, soon leads us to the next trail marker, where we continue left up. Just a few steps forward, we come to the ridge, which is the border between Slovenia and Italy. Here, the path turns right along a wide and flat ridge. We follow this path to the top of Matajur, which we can already see in front of us.

Day 7: HIKE FROM THE VILLAGE SVINO TO MATAJUR (1642 m)

The hike is easy and takes about 4 hours.
From Kamp Koren we turn to the main road, after few meters we turn left before the Napoleon Bridge to the direction of village Ladra. Here we take relatively narrow and steep road to Vrsno village, followed by the Krn village. From Krn village, we continue in the direction of the cottage on the pasture Kuhinja. We park the car in a parking lot, located just few minutes before the cottage.
From the parking lot, we focus on the left lower road, which leads us to the cottage. At the cottage, focus on the path to the right which goes slightly upwards in the direction of Krn. The way forward is initially flat, and then occasionally steeper going along the grassy slopes, which are partitioned with pasture fences. The path, which several times crosses the mountain road, leads us after about 40 minutes to the old military hamlet on the mountain pasture Slapnik and continue to the mountain pasture Zaslap. On all three mountain pastures, they still graze livestock and make home-made cheese and curd during the summer. When we return, we stop at the Megalithic Energy Circle, where you can fill yourself with energy. The Megalithic Energy Circle beneath mountain Krn was built of two types of stones, from ordinary limestone that are crushed. In the circle, many smooth stones can be seen, which are treated like pebbles, because they have been refined in the glacier moraine. They were brought by the glacier from the neighbouring area. All the stones from the glacier moraine have good energy records in their structure and they have a good influence on people.

Day 3 and 4: Hiking to Mount Triglav from the Pokljuka Plateau

Triglav is 2864 m high mountain, located in the heart of the Julian Alps and is the highest peak in Slovenia.
Very demanding two-day tour: Day 1 about 6h, 2nd day 7-8h.

This route is one of the fastest to the top of Triglav as you can relatively easy reach the Pokljuka Plateau by car from Bohinj Lake. After passing the mountain pasture of Planina Konjscica, the path reaches a plateau overlooking the surrounding 2000-metre high mountains. From there, the trail ascends the challenging Studorski Preval Ridge (1870m), then crosses the slopes of Tosc Mountain. After three hours of hike, you’ll reach the Vodnik Dom Hut (1817m).

From the plateau that stands at the foot of Triglav, there are two options to climb the summit. Both of them include via ferrata passages, equipped with steel cables and ladders. This is the most technical and exposed part of the hike. The route via the Dom Kredarica Hut (2515m) is longer and more technical, or you can try the slightly easier trail via the Dom Planika Hut (2401m). In both cases, the final ridge to the summit is very narrow, but well secured with cables, and the slopes drop vertically on both sides.

Terme Snovik is the highest altitude spa in Slovenia, surrounded on one side by the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and on the other by the beautiful forests and the unspoiled nature of the Tuhinj valley.
Our greatest treasure is healing thermal water, which has long been known by the locals, who often collected and took home free flowing water from the “pri Kovaču” farm, which was used for drinking and washing.

Terme Snovik consists of a reception, restaurant, wellness centre and a swimming pool complex with outdoor and indoor pools, above which there are eight apartment houses containing rooms and apartments at the edge of the forest. Terme Snovik also has arranged gardens, a gym in nature, playgrounds and footpaths.
Due to the surrounding nature and its excellent location in the central part of Slovenia, Terme Snovik is an ideal tourist destination for families during the holiday season and a great place to relax throughout the year.
